The Reality of Surrender- How I found inner peace
I’m on a mission for world peace. It might sound ambitious—maybe even like a fairytale—but I’m not alone. Around the world, there are other lightworkers who are committed to this vision of world peace, too. Together, we are connected through a spiritual lineage called the Modern Mystery School, a community dedicated to spiritual training and tools for real transformation.
When you turn on the news or scroll through social media, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. You might naturally find yourself asking, "Is peace even possible?"
Sometimes, people ask if the Modern Mystery School is a cult. Frankly, I find it a bit amusing that society considers it "crazy" to believe in global peace, as if living in a world of perpetual war is the acceptable norm. Those who know me best understand that a strong-willed woman like myself wouldn't fall into a cult. But if believing in a peaceful future for humanity makes me part of a "cult," then sign me up for the best cult ever!
Perhaps the leap to world peace is difficult to imagine without the understanding of Hermetics. One of its foundational principles states:
“As above, so below. As within, so without.”
Thus, if one can have inner peace, world peace is possible.
Maybe this is where the challenge really lies…If you don’t experience inner peace, then world peace can feel very far away, like a fantasy. One of my favorite teachings from Sovereign Ipsissimus Dave sums this up perfectly:
“One must accept reality in order to change it.”
I wasn’t always at peace. For a long time, I struggled with anxiety and depression, constantly searching for external things to fill an internal void. The more I looked outward, the emptier I felt. I was trapped in a feedback loop of limiting beliefs and self-destructive patterns.
Eventually, I made a choice: stop hiding.
This was a reality I chose to face. I dug deep to find the courage to face myself and connect with a Higher Power (the Hierarchy of Light—a structure taught in depth within the Empower Thyself program). I had to admit that I didn't have all the answers or know what the future held. What I did know was that I was meant for something greater. I felt a deep soul calling to be part of a bigger shift, and I was willing to do whatever it took to step into that calling.
Surrendering wasn't about giving up. Yet, by letting go I gained clarity. By releasing my attachment to how my life should look, I opened the door to a genuine sense of purpose, drive, and trust.
That surrender became my new reality. While external fruits of my internal work followed—like staying active and fit, driving a beautiful car, and living in a warm and inviting home—the true transformation happened within me.
Building a life you love matters; however, the real gold is truly in quiet moments alone. Today, I'm no longer running from myself to fill a void. The inner soundtrack of my mind is harmonious and hopeful—a space for creation rather than self-criticism.
This journey of surrender isn't a one-time event; it's an ongoing practice. I still have my moments with a Higher Power, but my periods of resistance are much shorter now. I’ve come to accept that growth requires sacrifice, and through my willingness to do whatever is necessary, I’ve discovered parts of myself I never knew existed. This path continues to amaze me , and my hope is that you find a way to Know Thyself, too.
